about
These days, it seems society is more divided than ever. The fourth estate is à la cart; we hear news only when it fits our sensibilities. self imposed isolation increases paranoia. social media has numbed us to our collective inhumanity such that we’ve become desensitized to crises at home and abroad. This state of apathy, combined with the loss of band founder and oldest sibling, Omar Higgins, inspired the reformation of the fabled Memphis hard-core band, Negro Terror and this call to arms: SHOTS FIRED!— A musical testament to the necessity to stand firm in what is right, and true, and to fight the waves of hatred and misinformation that threaten to tear us apart! From communities right here, under attack from authoritarian police states, or members of our human family, globally, facing similar tyranny with under different names. It is both a warning and a call to action!
lyrics
they tell you lies, truth deny/ with evil intent we'll never see eye to eye, youth lost fighting without a cause killing one another over scraps to be the boss,
now it's time don't run and hide shit got real now there running out of time,
now it's time don't run and hide shit got real now we're running out of town.
Chorus
Shots Fired repeat 3x
Who will be next Shot Fired repeat 3x
Shots Fired You will be next
Verse 2
genocide, homicide is all see in these city streets, your politics we won't take it no more, the streets full of rage it's time we settle the score,
our backs against the wall we're gonna stand tall, we're gonna fight back until your system falls,
now it's time don't run and hide shit got real now we're running out of time

Negro Terror, the brainchild of bassist and reggae frontman Omar Higgins, is an all American, all hardcore punk group that just happens to be all black. But the music that's played has no color, just the crimson red of pure aggression.
Exceptional punk music! I love sloppy punk, but this manages to be clean without without losing any energy at all (maybe even getting more of it in the process!). Can't recommend it enough and show them to everyone I know zacharypinkham
Quite a departure from the wild territories they ventured into with their major label releases. So far, the greatest thrash metal I've heard released in the 2020's. Plus, it's not everyday you hear Rhea Perlman on a metal record. t0cktock
Dead Cross, Retox, and Qui members dish out subversive hardcore with an indignant smirk; come for the riffs, stay for the synth experiments. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
Knockout debut from a Buffalo, New York-based hardcore band who like their riffs sick, their drums fast, and their choruses sticky-sweet. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 28, 2024
